The Order of Friars Minor (in Latin: Ordo Fratrum Minorum, OFM) is a Catholic religious order founded by Francis of Assisi in 1209. Members of this order are called Franciscans. They live according to the Rule of Saint Francis and dedicate themselves to poverty, simplicity, and service to the poor.
Live simply and share our resources with those in need.
Serve others with a humble heart, recognizing that all comes from God.
Build strong relationships based on love, respect and solidarity.
The Province of Saint Anthony of Padua is one of the three administrative entities of the Order of Friars Minor (OFM) present in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. It was created with the aim of bringing the friars closer to the people they are called to serve, in order to address the spiritual and social needs of local communities. The Franciscan friars of the Province of Saint Anthony of Padua work in close collaboration with local ordinaries, who entrust them with the care of certain parishes and schools. They also collaborate with charitable organizations to promote the well-being and dignity of the human person in this region, which is affected by recurring wars.
